Caffe Cherry Beans, Westfield Gardencity

As Westfield Garden City shopping centre extends its territory, so is the growing number of visitors.
If you need a quick treat or caffeine hit to maximise your shopping experience at Gardencity, why not stop by at this cute café?

CAFÉ CHERRY BEANS, GARDEN CITY
Shop 1324A, Westfield Garden City
Logan Rd & Kessels Rd.
Upper Mt. Gravatt QLD 4122

Located in North Zone 3, level 1 – yep, it sounds giberrish – it’s in front of the escalator located in front of Harvey Norman and/or right in front of the Body Shop.

The menus were very similar and like any other regular cafes. Majority of the menu, ranging from breakfast, lunch, sandwiches and sweet cakes, prices were all under $20.

The menu pamphlet was worn and dirty, but I guess that means its landed in hands of many hungry customers.

The overall interior and design is very modern and cute – the cushions really gave us that comfy feeling of home!

You can also observe hardworking chefs through that gap in the wall. We really liked the idea of being able to see the inside of the kitchen – it provided transparency to us customers on the café’s part, that they are confident for the customers to even see their kitchen and provide that assurance of fresh food.
The staff members were also lovely and friendly. Full table service is provided once the order and payment is made at the counter.

Half strength iced long black - $5.00

Julie, who usually prefers “fresh” coffee on its own, ordered half strength iced long black. The coffee wasn’t too bitter or strong and didn’t come with too much ice – just the way she likes it!

Small soy cappuccino - $4.50

I ordered my usual, small soy cappuccino with extra chocolate topping on top. No sugar, no nothing. Having worked at a coffee shop for almost 5 years now, I think I know what a good coffee tastes like. & the coffee was good. Though the coffee was a little weak for my liking, there was no bitterness. I give it a 7/10 would recommend.

A little while after our drinks were served, we were presented with lunch.
We ordered the “Deluxe Chicken Sandwich” made on Turkish bread and a bowl of “Herby Chips”.

Deluxe Chicken Sandwich - $13.50
Fresh. The sandwich was served with chips on side with a serving of sauce of your choice. We picked the classic tomato sauce.

Herby Chips - $8.50
“Herby chips” were indeed herby! They were very well fried and crispy. The chips were thing but were not, at all, salty or soggy. They were served with a tiny bowl of tomato sauce and aioli. Nothing too fancy, but good enough for our hungry tummy!

The quantity of the two dishes was more than enough for two, though we made it a mission to finish them all. Which, we, of course, managed to stuff it all down. Mission accomplished.

We couldn’t even attempt to try any of these amazing looking treats, but please, do. And make sure you let us know how they are!

So, I hope you enjoyed our very first blog post and review.
